We just returned last week from our trip to Alaska. The trip was
wonderful and everything we wanted to do was arranged perfectly.
We did not have one hassle our whole trip from rental car, to rooms
to tours. Your Melissa was great to work with and arranged everything just as we wanted. I would recommend your company to anyone and you are free to use my name as a reference. Thank you.

Why not come to Alaska!? It is such a unique and diverse state that offers history, adventure, and unsurpassed beauty. Palmer, Alaska is especially a treasure. The downtown area offers incredible local vendors who are all friendly beyond compare, a fascinating historical district, and a garden that has the biggest, most vibrant flowers. The Palmer Museum and Visitor Center is a good place to begin your adventure. Our staff can give you anything from information on where to visit, to a history lesson on Palmer, which began in 1935 as the biggest resettlement community in FDR’s New Deal Program. If you plan a visit, come on a Friday so you can visit the Friday Fling, Palmer’s open air market, that showcases crafts and freshly grown vegetables. The vegetables are famous in Palmer – giant vegetables, that is. Cabbages weighing over 100 pounds, a 42 pound beet, and a 90 pound zucchini are all things you can see at the Alaska State Fair at the end of August. While you are here visit Independence Gold Mine and go hiking in the spectacular state park Hatchers Pass. So come on up, and take pleasure in what could be the greatest adventure of your life!

Visitors looking to Alaska for a great time will want to come to Homer! Homer is where the Art is! Lots of galleries and studios. We have active musical and theater cultures too. Great food in a number of restaurants with in-house chefs. Breathtaking views that can't be beat--glaciers, mountains, volcanos, and the bay. Great Halibut and Salmon fishing. Flight-seeing and Bear Viewing flights. A great museum and the new Islands and Ocean center. Bay excursions for kayaking, hiking to a glacier, and more outdoor activities! See Fireweed Gallery at fireweedgallery.com and click on the Gallery Guide to visit other galleries in town. For accommodation look to fireweedgallery.com/loft.html

Come stay in the Wise Old Hunter Lodge or the Moose Cabin at Bear Paw Adventure. These unique log buildings offer a special Alaskan atmosphere with lots of comforts and security. Bear Paw Adventure’s location just north of Anchor Point is one of the best fishing spots in the state. You can fish on your own, or enlist the services of a professional guide for a charter on the saltwater, on the local rivers, or you can choose a fly out fishing trip that combines sightseeing, bear viewing and fishing. Bear Paw Adventure’s central location puts you in an easy reach of all sorts of great adventures, including marine tours, bear viewing trips, kayaking, hiking and more.

This year is a great time to visit the Kenai Peninsula because you will find excellent deals on fishing charter trips, lodging and other Alaskan adventures. Because the summer tourist traffic is expected to be lower than usual, this will be a good year to see Alaska in at more casual pace. You will enjoy fantastic scenery at Anchor Point, including great views of four volcanoes visible across Cook Inlet, glaciers and rugged peaks across Kachemak Bay, and Alaskan wildlife. May temperatures have been comfortable with sunny days and we look forward to pleasant, sun-filled summer days with lots of time for adventures.

Contact Bear Paw Adventure at www.bearpawadventure.com or call 866 286 0576 for free help in planning your trip and first class lodging.

Avoid the crowds on an Alaska small ship cruise. Expedition and adventure cruises aboard small ships and yachts in Alaska, ranging from 8 to 138 passengers, are already a great way to experience authentic Alaska up close and avoid the big ship crowds. But this year travelers will find exceptional saving and even fewer crowds. Imagine staying on a yacht designed for 20 people with only 12 people on board. Or an 80 passenger small ship that may be only half full. You will receive more access to on board naturalists, more time to spend exploring on shore hikes and by kayak, more time on shore excursions, more personalized dining service and more space on deck to view whales breaching and glaciers calving. I have been an expert in Alaska small ship cruises since 1995 and I have never seen a better year to visit Alaska by small ship. Cruise packages from West Coast cities start at $1499 and many cruises are up to 25% off. We offer dozens of cruises beginning in Anchorage, Juneau, Seattle or other ports. Check out our Alaska small ship cruise itineraries at http://www.adventuresmithexplorations.com/adventures.php/d/alaska and view details on Alaska small ships and yachts at http://www.adventuresmithexplorations.com/accommdir.php/d/alaska
If you want to see glaciers, whales and bears up close, there is no better way than aboard a small ship cruise and there has been no better time than now.

There's a saying up here: "You live twice during the summer in Alaska." Because it stays light for such long hours, you can stretch your days into 18 - 20 hours each if you want. There is nothing more magical than watching bears, whales, moose, sea otters, eagles and more until 11 o'clock at night. How about fishing and jigging after dinner? Step back in time when you visit places like Elfin Cove and Pelican, tiny fishing villages not accessible by road or cars. Charter a private yacht and see all this and more...Glacier Bay National Park is truly the most majestic place in Alaska with it's wildlife, pristine beauty, glaciers and limited access to those with permits, including us!! Check out www.firstoutlastin.com and come cruise with us: 2-6 people. We'll leave the coffee on and await your arrival.

Come to Aleknagik, Alaska, and stay at the Historic Schoolhouse Inn and walk to the water in front of the Inn to see 1.5 million red salmon swim upriver the first week of July!

(PS, and enjoy complimentary boat rental, kayak, hot tub, wifi!)

After traveling through the Northwest and Northwest Canada recently by motor home from Arizona, I have to say that Alaska is still my favorite place to vacation in the summer time. The fishing can't be beat, the weather is comfortable to sleep in and play in, the people of Alaska are very friendly and welcoming, the scenery is spectacular where ever you go and even though gas prices are higher than anywhere in the northwest, it's all worth it!

Being from Washington State most of my life and growing up there, as a fisherman, Alaska is far superior in quantity and quality of fishing without all the pressure of the streams and rivers in Washington and Oregon, not to mention what were ideal places like Montana, Idaho and California. No comparison! Alaska is the Best, hand's down from someone who knows the Truth about what fishing use to be like in the Northwest, Alaska is still far better. Anyone from there who has fished both Alaska and the Northwest will agree. You may need to fly in to find the really outstanding fishing, but, it's there in Alaska. Have a great fishing vacation in Alaska this year, but, save a few for me and my clients to hook and release!

Alaska is always an awesome place to visit and live but if you're looking for a reason for this particular summer than you should come up for the 34th annual Girdwood Forest Fair - after a one year hiatus last year all the locals are pleased to see this family friendly event back! It's got great music, amazing food, incredible local handcrafts and the coolest vibe you'll ever find!
