2011 Alaska Travel Photo Contest

We’re excited to be able to award Two “Dancers” by Alaska Inupiat Native artist Tony Weyiouanna Jr. as the grand prize for this year’s winning photo in our annual Alaska Tour & Travel Photo Contest.  Valued at $650, the beautiful carvings are made of antler, walrus, ivory, baleen, and polar bear fur and can be viewed all summer in our display at the Anchorage Museum Shop at 625 “C” Street in downtown Anchorage.

Meet Patron, is one of the photographs already submitted  in this year’s  photo contest.  Patron was photographed by Jenn S. from Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.  Jenn photographed Patron at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center near Girdwood, Alaska.  Last year, we received over 400 photos from both visitors and residents of Alaska.  Select photos that are submitted are posted on Alaskatravel.com’s photo page where website visitors can view photos taken from all over Alaska depicting Alaska’s spectacular wildlife, scenery, people or adventures.   We find that the photos found on the website are another great tool among many on our website when planning a vacation.

If you are interested in submitting a photograph, please read our complete rules first, then submit your photos to photos@alaskatravel.com.  You can also view past finalist photographs on our flickr website here!
